Travel to the Philippines

Hello there civilization!

I was hoping to write when Monel and I were on vacation but I didn’t get around to it. We were very busy visiting with family and friends and traveling all over the place. It was great to view the different places within the Philippines while we were there and to meet so much family and get to know all of them. Family is key in my life and as well as Monel’s life. Which is why it was so important to me to meet her family and get to know them better.

We visited to multiple different places and saw most all of the family on her Mama and Papa’s side. While in Manila we met up with quite a few friends and Monel participated in a wedding of one of her best friends. It was beautiful to see a Filipino wedding and to watch it in the Manila Cathedral.

For a few days her and I had a mini vacation to Boracay and visited a number of different areas while we were there. While there we stayed at the Blue Lilly Hotel right on the beach. We had an awesome experience with multiple activities. ATV riding, parasailing, snorkeling, helmet diving, visiting Carabao Island (also called Romblon), and eating some amazing food of course!

We stayed on another island towards the end of the trip with a four of her friends (now our friends 🙂 ). Where we went was called Coron on the island of Palawan. This island is a lot less industrialized for tourism at this point in time so its a bit more of a fun trip for us. We really enjoyed the island hopping we did while visiting Coron and I would love to go back someday and visit another portion of Palawan to see El Nido or Puerto Princesa.

I will have more pictures, videos, and stories to share later on once I get more time to compile them into a better format and edited state. Please bear with us on that one :). there are some photos and videos up on my instagram already but a full on video is in the works to show better where we went throughout the entire trip and to explain our story. This truly was an amazing journey and I look forward to sharing more with you later.

Stay classy and travel often!

Adios (for now),

-Mark

Daily Prompt, Thoughts and Questions

Daily Prompt – Illusion

When we live in each day of our lives we may not necessarily see all the things we think we see. I am talking about illusions. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. They can even come at various times of the day.

Sometimes people are illusions in that they are true and honest at one moment and then in the next they are the complete opposite when you aren’t around. While out on a hot day you might think you see an ice cream stand or a pop machine with ice cold beverages in it, but when you get to it, it’s not there.

There isn’t much you can do to stop illusions like this but you can choose the good side of them to see. It means your mind is still creative. In the people case mentioned above, all you can do is to ensure to surround yourself with true and honest friends.

To further elaborate on illusion, I am sure there are hundreds of thousands of interpretations and these are just a couple of them. One thing I know for certain is the illusion I have seen time and time again. In my past, which brought me to believe that every year on the Fourth of July, I had to be on the Torch Lake Sandbar in Northern Michigan drinking with friends and however many other random people from all over the place were there.

This year, I had no interest in going there to have my boat get trashed with garbage and surrounded by drunk people. I ended up riding motorcycles with my dad to Boyne City and Horton Bay to see their awesome parades they have each year. If you ever get a chance, definitely go see them both, I promise you’ll love it!

Tiny Horton Bay, MI and the nice general store there. Horton Bay, “It ain’t over until the fat lady sings!” Always gets me.

Daily Prompt, Thoughts and Questions

Daily Prompt – Commit

Giving something your all, proving to yourself or someone else that you can and will do something, there are so many ways to show you are committed to something.

To commit, for me, means to give something my all without giving into failure or giving up until I have truly given it my all. Commitment applies in many cases; work, school, family, friends, and so many more.

Relationship commitment is a big key feature for a lot of people when they think of today’s Daily Prompt word. Committing to a significant other is one of my personal prides and I definitely put a lot of myself into being committed to Monel and I’s relationship.

There are a lot of people who might have trouble with commitment. Maybe it scares them, or maybe they’ve been hurt by someone before so they have a hard time trusting people and committing to someone themselves now because of it. Whatever the case is for you, try and commit to something and stick it out, give it your all!

Always remember, you have the power to do anything, no matter what anyone says!

What kind of things do you struggle with commitment on?

Stay classy!

Daily Prompt

Daily Prompt: Triumph

To triumph can mean many things, to some it might mean to overcome one of your greatest fears or to overcome one of your greatest roadblocks in life. However, to some it may seem like an untouchable item in life that they have a slight vision of but cannot reach. You can reach any goal you set your mind to.

Goals are important because they allow you to see into the future and dream what can and will be different. As I have said before, goals need to be achievable, if you set your bar out beyond the solar system that is possible but it is highly unlikely that the average person will be able to reach there.  In no way should you set the bar low, by all means reach for the stars and achieve whatever you can dream.

Triumph and become greater than what you have believed you can be. You can overcome the hurdles in life; you can triumph and come out on top.

Stay classy!

Visiting family and friends this weekend

This weekend I’ve been visiting family and friends up north in Bellaire, MI. Did a 10k run and my dad walked in the 5k. Enjoyed some good beer at Short’s Brewpub and great food at Starlight lounge.

Fitness is a great way to get your body up moving and break through sickness.

Monel and I are looking hard for flights to the Philippines for July. I am really excited to go there and make memories there with her. Stay tuned for updates and more.

Stay classy!

Adios,

-Mark
