One of the funniest things, I think, is when people realize they are out of shape or overweight. I don’t think it’s funny because of the state their body is in. I think it is funny because typically, like all things on Earth, humans try to take the easiest path of least resistance; because of this, the thought process is that health and fitness can be achieved overnight.
I wanted to take a minute to show and share the Myers Mindset podcast with you. This specific episode is about changing your health overnight and how it will not benefit you in the long run. The greatest lesson to learn from this, is that your healthy habits and lifestyle have to become exactly that, a lifestyle change, rather than a quick fix.
Change your mindset
In order to make some real changes in your life, you have to change your mindset about things. Taking the time to think back to eating a cheeseburger everyday, or coming home from work and not working out, etc. There are a number of things that we do and think everyday and some of them are beneficial, but some can be negative impacts to the end goal.
It’s okay to not eat perfectly everyday
As I mentioned, and Dominique and Erik mention, you don’t have to be perfect with your eating habits or exercise habits (we all slip sometimes and just ‘enjoy’ the great things in life). Having fun and enjoying yourself from time to time is just as important as taking care of your body. The trick is, keeping yourself in check and ensuring you don’t go overboard when you do treat yourself. Coincidence that Halloween is just around the weekend and we have a trick-or-treat scenario in this post 🙂
As always, Cheers and stay classy!
